How to locate an article in the library using only a citation
Follow the steps below to find an article in the library using only the citation.
FINDING JOURNAL ARTICLES
1. Go to the Library Hompage
2. Click on the DATABASES/JOURNALS tab, under the Journal Title heading, select EXACT MATCH from the drop down menu, type the journal title into the box, and click SEARCH.
3. Confirm that the collection(s) listed provides access to the proper year. For example, my article was published in 2013, so I know that it will be available in Elsevier ScienceDirect Journals because it has content available from 1997.
FINDING JOURNAL ARTICLES
1. Go to the Library Hompage
2. Click on the DATABASES/JOURNALS tab, under the Journal Title heading, select EXACT MATCH from the drop down menu, type the journal title into the box, and click SEARCH.
3. Confirm that the collection(s) listed provides access to the proper year. For example, my article was published in 2013, so I know that it will be available in Elsevier ScienceDirect Journals because it has content available from 1997.
4. Click the GO button next to the collection title. NOTE: if the library does not have access to a certain journal, the only available option listed will be Interlibrary Loan.
5. You will land on a page that lists information about the journal. Look for a listing or expandable menu that shows years or volume numbers and narrow down until you find the proper issue. For my sample article, the publication information is 132(3), 654-659, the image below shows how I narrowed down to find the journal issue that I need.

6. Scroll through the journal issue contents until you locate your article.
